My black 'n' white Bold 9930.....hybrid?
My Bold 9930 was looking a little scuffed, so after searching Amazon I came across a white Bold 99xx shell. So I said, what the heck! After watching a YouTube video on taking apart the phone, this is what I came up with!

As far as I know it is. There are white 9900's (in China?) and it shipped from Hong Kong.

Looks very nice. I think to complete the hybrid idea, the mid chassis(the black rubber? band that touches the metal band in the back) should be black.

Upon further inspection of my 9900, it looks as if where the camera is and the mid chassis are one piece? So you couldn't have white where the camera is and a black edge.

Yeah, it's one piece. I do have my black battery door that further completes the look, but I use an Incipio case that keeps it covered up.
