My attempt to install .825 with BBSK on my 9900
Hi, this is my first attempt to use bbsk. I just usually the app loader for updating os's. Anyway.. I got the point of where it says "error 507. It continues to retreiving device config., connecting to device. Error message "The BlackBerry Desktop Software does not have the Blackberry device software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact service provider or sys. admin"
Can I disconnect my 9900 from the computer?? The phone still has the 507 message and frozen I guess.
I'd appreciate any help. I've never experienced anything like this in my over a yr of ownershipBold 9900

Error 507 is is standard after a wipe. It just means the previous OS has been removed, ready for the new one.
You can remove it from your PC, as there's nothing on it to lose.
Search your PC for any hidden vendor.xml files and delete them, as this is the reason the new OS won't install.• That's Phill… with 2 L's ☺ - 01-17-2013, 01:40 PM #4
I thought I read BBSAK will wipe and OS 7 phone but will not install the OS. Use loader.

Must have missed deleting the hidden vendor file. It's all loaded up and rebooting now. Thanks for the help and speedy replies.

Another way to load the OS is via BBH tools. There is a button there to delete the vendor.xml files thereby eliminating the need to manually search for the vendor.xml file(s). And should you want to shrink the OS, you can do it there too and load the OS right after.
