So after reading many threads about MIC issues for AT&T users after they upgrade their OS to 7.1.0.523... I was a little skeptical if I should upgrade it or not.. but I DID..

And everything else seemed normal but when I tried to call my friend, he kept on going "hello...? hello.... hello...."

Yes, so apparently I have that MIC issues people are talking about...

Is there any way to fix this? Is this on and off problem?

The ATT Mic issues only seem to happen with some ATT phones. Not all are affected, as is evident in the forums. My Bold is one of those that has the Mic issues. I would think this is a hardware problem coupled with a software issue. Remember when ATT released the Bold 9900 late, as they were working on the hardware. My bold was made in Mexico 4, and uses HDW Ver:1. What hardware versions are others using that are having the problem, and what versions are not experiencing the issue?
