Memory card seems currupted after OS update

I upgraded to .746 yesterday and since then all of the data on my memory card is unusable.

When trying to view photos taken before the upgrade a small icon appears instead of the photo. PDF documents appear to be present but when trying to open them it says 'file not found'.

Any suggestions on what may have happened and if I can recover them.

Just to add - I have already tried several reboots, removing and reinserting the memory card and trying to read the data through a PC...

What happened when you tried to read the card on your PC? Could you open your files?

When trying to view the files on the PC, they appear not to even be there in explorer. Properties still shows that most of the cards capacity is used though - so the data is clearly still there..

Have you tried using the repair option on the phone, and do the files have an extra rem extention?

You can always try some recovery software via the PC. There's a lot of freeware/shareware out there.

this happened to me a few months ago out of no where the memory card could not be read. The above freeware found most pics but the phone still can't detect any memory card. You might be out of luck as I am.

I managed to recover most of the photos with one of the freeware programs mentioned and have since then formatted the card and all seems to be working again.

My phone has been giving me a "media card fatal error" message for the past week and a half. I'm just about done with this phone. There have just been way too many problems with this phone. Its just one thing after another.

Can the card be read on a PC?
