I was wondering if it's possible to lock a specific folder (not all) in the media gallery by password-protecting it. Is there such application for this 'cause I'm willing to pay for it whatever the cost is.

You can go in to files and then click properties and select hide. To be able to view any of the pictures or have access to your files within that folder, go back in to the file structure and select "show hidden".
As long as they are hidden, won't be able to view within your media app.

I know what you mean. I have pictures of gf that I don't want anyone to stumble across if they're looking though my phone. I really need that app too
