I use Navigation a lot. Loads much faster! Even more important it closes right away. I would always get the spinning bar after closing navigation and app wouldn't close right away. On the donw side, for the first time every, I have to say my battery life sucks. I will see after a few more battery pulls and check some stuff out. I don't want to jump to any conclusions yet. But just got up and unplugged from a full charged. Checked a few emails and facebook and dropped 5%! I will see.

I can't make that guide any more complicated, plus I haven't personally DLed a CDMA OS7 or 7.1 build to poke around myself.
I can tell you BBM has 13 cod's now, up 2 from the longstanding 11. The new ones are for the "social platform."
If you want to keep a higher version of BBM than included in the OS, you need to shrink out all 13 from the original OS first.

Yup, battery is horrible. 10am and down to 65%. Not much use at all! This could be bad.

Okay I give up, this is usually a breeze. I followed the instructions, the apploader only shows installed apps, not the update. I did all the deleting and uninstalling and reinstalling and restarting. The update doesnt show up in DM or the loader.

Went from bone stock Sprint 7.0.0.241to this 7.1.0.163 update. I held off on installing other Vender tested OS and am happy I did. Never had a bricking moment. I don't see why folks would take the chance and install this on a Verizon 9930 which have later 7.0 versions than Sprint had.

Installed it on my VZW 9930. Not too impressed to be honest. OS is a little snappier but battery/reception seems worse.

More "stuff" included so I'm guessing that would contribute to more battery drain. Everything seems fine on mine. So far the battery seems the same but it's been less than a day and I am for sure watching it.

... one more tip.. I saw these 2 new "tsm" cods.. I was wondering what they were for and couldn't find the answer on google.. I didn't think they were used for anything so I trashed 'em both.. it turns out, both cods were required to run 'Options' so I put 'em back by injecting them..
.. you guys can trash virtual keyboard cods though.. imho, they're of no use... cmiiw..

Installed on Verizon 9930 using Elite1 method. Shrunk the sh** out of the OS using BBHTool and so far(3 hours) seems to be running fine. Main things I have noticed after only one battery pull, is that otherwise buggy apps like Foursquare and iHeartradio load VERY fast and not buggy at all. Also, this may be redundant but under Options>Device>Application Management it tells me I have 323.5mb used and 444.4 Free! Now, if I remember right that is a LOT more memory.

I just did a direct shrink on my phone using Bb Boss but I was pretty minimalistic because shrinking scares me. Only shrunk out startup video, Gmail plugin, IM crap, and VZ apps. Only saved about 9MBs. Anything else I should shrink?

Just bbm and some Tapatalk.

After several attempts on different computers, I was unable to get this running on my VZW 9930, I wiped the BlackBerry using JL_Cmder & retried on 32/64 bit architectures, nothing. I even downloaded the file twice since IDM error'd out at 100% stating that it could not compile the pieces into one build, a full download with Internet Explorer and it failed as well.
AppLoader doesn't get past the "Waiting for device initialization" .. "reconnecting to JVM" stages, the phone stays in a reboot loop and no progress is made. This happened several times. I was forced to return back to 7.0* which installed without an issue. Has anyone had these issues or successfully fixed this issue? I was really hoping to get this build running on my 9930.
