The first time they held/played with the 9900 in store? I was in the AT&T store about a month or two ago when I decided I would finally get an iPhone(rocking the 3GS right now)and man while I was in the store getting everything set up I saw the Bold and immediately went over to play with it....my last BB was the Bold 9700 that I had on T-Mobile a few years back and I originally wanted the Bold 9000 when it first dropped
I played with the Torch 9810 and the Curve 9360 but something about the Bold stuck with me after I left the store that day.....i've been reading the forums and watching tons of reviews on it and i'm completely convinced that I need the Bold in my life!
The keyboard hooked me immediately, and then when I used the browser and saw how fast it was compared to the older BBs I was pretty impressed to say the least
With that said, it's inevitable and i'm coming back to BB asap!
Agree with southlander, had mine for 6 months. First one did brick but received a certified replacement next day no charge that was actually better. Its everything I have ever wanted from a berry. You won't be dissapointed. I am still awed by it.
I'm so close to doing just that!....worst case scenario I will end up just adding the Bold on as a third line(on family plan with wife)that way I can have the best of both worlds although I would like to keep my bill at the same rate/as low as possible.
Since i'm already locked into the 2 year contract with AT&T, what would you guys suggest I do? I'm thinking outside of adding the Bold as another line the only other option would be for me to purchase it outright and sell the iPhone on ebay/craigslist.
I don't know why, but I started my very first Blackberry as the 9000 Bold from Rogers, jumped ship to WIND. Got the 9700, and then the 9780...There's something about the keyboard on the Bold phones, I love em.
I trade my iphone4 for HTC Desire HD, then I switched to BB9900. And never look back. Best smartphone, hopefully newer OS will make my battery last longer.
I do love my bold 9900 but still get the hour glass often. Hopefully the BB10 phones eliminate the hour glass completely or at least minimize the instances to almost none.
I have a 9930 and an Android phone. So I'm in the two phone camp. Love the 9930. Its a joy to use. The keyboard is awesome. It really is a great tool for gettin it done. I have the Android for all the cool toys.
Its not too expensive as an add on to a shared plan. For me there is no one phone that covers all the bases. If the apps would improve a bit on the Blackberry it would be awesome. A few of the apps that worked with my older Bold don't work with the 9930. But, its early yet. Hopefully more developers get on board.
And thats the thing I got my iPhone thinking I would use a whole bunch of apps and tbh I only use maybe 4-5 of them on a consistent basis.....besides that i'm browsing the internet and checking/responding to emails most of the time and i've even jailbroken my iPhone but I didn't really see a significant difference and ended up going back to the original look so the apps on a phone really aren't a big deal for me.
That's what I'm doing tomorrow , returning to BB for the second time. The iPhone is a great device, no doubt about that, as a phone? No even close to BBs, just for the profiles, notification system and the keyboard, not to mention email settings an options. I like Blackberries a lot, but wife gave me an iPhone as a gift, fun but I need a real phone. I still have my 9780 , can't use now because is for tmobile, we're on AT&T now. Planing to sell it, but don't know how much.
Anyways, back to BBs tomorrow, TADA!
I went from BB to Evo4g to Iphone4 back to BB. I have to say when I switched back to BB. It was like the sigh of relief you get when you put on a nice comfy pair of sneakers after having worn painful dress shoes all day.
I did with my first one the 9700' e from there I have never stopped never cheated with another phone ,even when I waited nearly a month due to my two 9900's losses meanwhile I sitted on the 9780
Respects!
Man, I thought I loved my BB before. Once I got the 9930, wow.
I often say both here and in person that my Bold is my best friend, and I actually mean it.
Very awesome.
You know you're in trouble when you give your BB a petname/nickname....oh wait

I think the 9900 has already minimized the spinning clock jawn to almost none. It will still sometimes show up when I'm working my Bold hard, but it's just for a split second or a couple seconds max. Nothing like on my 9000 where it would show up all the time and I'd have to let it sit for a good 5-10 minutes or pull the battery.
As far as the bricking issue, I know the phones that were released first have had the majority of the issues, but with the the most recent phones are the bricking issues pretty few and far inbetween?
