Hello, I bought my bold 9900 2months ago and everything seems to be working perfectly until I changed my OS randomly. Firstly I upgraded from 7.0 to 7.1.0.342 and I enjoyed the newest OS. I later changed to 7.1.0.4xx and 7.1.0.5xx respectively and that is where the space bar double typing started. If I tap my space bar once, sometimes it double click and sometimes it work fine for some minutes and get worse again. Please what can I do? Is it a software/hardware problem? Thanks.

Sound like it could be an OS, try going back an OS & see if that helps.

If you do a search I know there are already threads addressing this issue that might help you. Some said it was hardware, some software.

@chrysalis pls help me with any helpful information because the space bar is annoying. I haven't install the 7.1.0.318, still checking if it would be corrected itself since the OS am running is new to the device. Maybe settling down well into my device my help it but if it doesn't after some days I would install another OS.

Here's one link to an older thread. Like I said, it was a mixed consensus. Some said it was software, some hardware. Some were able to resolve it, others got their devices replaced. There were a couple of other threads & if you go to Search and put in "9900 Spacebar" you'll be able to pull up the links. I haven't experienced this issue so I only know what I've read. Good luck.

Sometimes you might be pressing the space bar for too long, this happens to me with other keys and they turn capitals. Its a finger thing, sometimes your finger freezes on the button too long.

Also if you go to Options and Key board, try some of the settings there for key board response. It might help out, worth a shot.

Wow! Since last night up till this current moment am composing these words it has stopped and the space bar seem to be working back to its best. I didn't install a new OS, I only let the .342 settled down for days! I will let you know if the development is going to be a happy ending.... Thanks so much, I really appreciate your help

Have had the same problem for months. Went into the keyboard settings and changed it from "medium" to "medium fast" and have had no problems since.
    This worked for me!
