i cracked my BB9900's screen. The crack is pretty bad. Local repair centers said they'd charge me somewhere around $120-150. I'm wondering if anyone knows any cheap repair services. Thanks

as above, does screen still work? If so, you have cracked the digitizer. This is the layer of glass that provides the touch sensing. There are many on-line sources for just this part and not killer to do yourself. I got one for about $60. You do have to get the version that is matched to your screen version if I recall. Pull it apart to get the code off the LCD. Lots of take apart vids out there as well and it is one of the nicer berrys to take apart.

Only do this if you are comfortable with this sort of thing. Not worth the anguish of wrecking one of the small ribbon cables.

If it is only the digitizer, getting a replacement should run you 30-40 bucks. Unlike the LCD the digitizer doesn't have a model number so just find the right color.
