I would like to preview more than one line of the messages I receive, so I navigated to (Messages, Menu, Options, Message Display and Actions), and I set the preview length to 4 and saved the change; but only 1 line of the messages show up.

I rebooted, pulled the battery, resent service books, and tried other values (2 and 3); and the messages still only display one line.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am running AT&T Official 7.1.0.694 on the AT&T network.

That was probably an old option only available in ancient OS builds. Don't know if it ever worked, but RIM must have removed it for a reason.
