I got this brand new Blackberry 9900 white. It cannot connect to BIS for some reason (RIM is helping me to resolve it), so I basically only use browser on 3G and basic phone features.

I have WIFI on most of the time, and I noticed that the battery only lasts about 3 hours screen time and 14 hours of stand-by with 3G connection.

It is running the latest 7.1 OS, screen timeout is 10 seconds and lowest brightness, battery saving/app monitor both enabled. I remember Blackberry used to have excellent battery life, however maybe not on this particular 9900.

How is yours? Shall I feel sad about this battery performance?

Mine lasts the entire day or more.

Mine lasts over 40 hours on 3g, and bbm/email.

hmm.. probably a third party app could be causing your phone to have such terrible battery life.

I was having the same problem. my battery was fully charged before i went to sleep and in the morning was at 30%. I upgrated os to the latest .746 and today the battery was at 80% in the morning. maybe new os work also better for you

haha.. BIS hasn't ever worked on my phone so I don't have any third party apps at all... but congratulations, your battery seems to be better than mine

i get 48 - 60 hours with my high capacity battery and i lasted from 8am till 10pm on my original one, maybe your batterys had it and you need a new one cause 3 hours isnt normal even with a lot of apps (unless youre running them all in the background constantly lol), try charging it from another location such as a friends house too incase its the charger or the power outlet not allowing enough juice through to the battery as some people have trouble charging their bolds through usb and need to charge through a wall plug

you can also try using the device optimiser app thats tucked inside advance os and led once you get your BIS sorted by RIM, itll clear out your memory, try setting your native app refresh/update times in the options to once a day

Mine lasts about a day under average use and 3/4 through the day under heavy use. I have BB Curve 3G running on OS 6.0. Maybe you should have your new phone replaced..?

I might have found out the problem. I noticed that "Media" application is constantly having very high CPU usage, then I learned that Blackberry will scan whole SD card for pictures/music files. I have quite a lot of pictures backed up in the SD card, I guess that might be the cause of excessive CPU usage. I wish that Blackberry could have a ".nomedia" mechanism...
