I don't do battery pulls anymore. If I need to restart my device for any particular reason I'd do a ALT & Shift & Delete.
And even that is probably once a month or so, tops...

One doesn't need to do a Batt pull unless there's a genuine reason for it ...

like after a new OS install etc or some other glitches ...

ALT-SHIFT-DEL does a soft reset, which is what an application does. Pulling the battery is a hard reset. These are both documented on blackberry.com in the knowledgebase. Some people say that doing two soft resets in a row is the same as a hard reset, but there is no mention of that on the blackberry website so it may be an urban legend.

I used to do battery pull like twice a day before but on latest OS I don't feel like doing that, like 2/3 times a week (even tho its not really needed) i could simply reboot tho.

I don't know why people are so persistent about this without keeping the discussion realistic.Anyone ever see a difference in behavior when comparing a battery pull or a soft reset? If so, what device? Not all Blackberrys are the same. Soft and Hard are two different ways of accomplishing the same reset on most modern Blackberrys. 9860/9850? Who knows what they have to do with their fingers.Just because Crackberry has something posted on this subject doesn't make it true. Or maybe it was true about particular models when it was written. I have Quickpull installed on my 9930. It resets my phone once a day. That has been the problem with all the BlackBerry devices I have used. They run out of storage eventually due to app storage and RAM usage. But I think it's good to restart it once a day and wake up with a fresh device.

Maybe once a month. Current OS is somewhat bug free and I have plenty of memory.

It seems that I do it less and less these days. I used to do it twice a day before due to various issues.

The OS has gotten very functional.

For me personally it depends on usage. I've noticed that the more I use it in a day I will usually need to do a pull in a few days. But if I use my pb I can last at least a week

I have learned that 3rd party apps are the culprits that consume most of the RAM storage which causes restarts due to low memory and freezing! I was using BeBuzz and BeWeather and they ate up all my available storage so I constantly had to restart! But now I have uninstalled those apps and found alternatives that work much more efficiently and my internal storage lasts forever now! As long as the storage is recycled, it will last forever with no restarts! But it's always nice to restart every once in awhile just to get refreshed!!

i put my "gold" ebay extended battery in over a year ago and it hasn't been removed since....you guys are doing battery pulls for what reason?

Because of my current high phone usage and battery consumption is extreme, I'm putting a fresh battery in, so I guess I'm doing a battery pull about twice a day. At least I don't have to find a socket

i restart using the alt shift del every 3-4 days but i never battery pull because it's too much of a hassle

If I haven't done a restart due to an app update within a month, I normally have to restart (alt shift delete). Normally I have to restart to free up the memory (lot of deleted emails, facebook, twitter, etc).
