Purchased a used 9900 bold for tmobile. Took the phone to T mobile to get it activated and the guy behind the counter told me that the phone has an IT block on the firewall and that the phones email, text and BBM would not work until the security lock was removed by whoever installed it.

A bit outdated in its terms but you skip the non-relevant stuff. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure any more. Been too long since I've dealt with a BBOS device.

That works too but most of it assumes you have access to a BES.
