Since many have had allot of difficulties with getting the GSM part to work properly with data (if you read the posts), I suggest just getting the 9900, or the curve one, if you intend to save some money, or just get it from the local classifieds. Craigslist, Kijiji, then meet the person in the original carrier store to have the blackberry verified not to be stolen and that it works properly and then, the money exchanges hands.

How to activate all the features on a unlocked blackberry 9930 bold for tmobile
Install 9930/7.1.0.649 (B1886).
Worked great for me. No need to do any of the above mentioned steps with this. I did this on 3 devices and all picked up EDGE on first boot and BIS worked flawlessly

Mr. Richard
I have tried all that but nothing works, I guess I didn't get u on where to enter the key coz I got the key but there's nowhere to enter it. I have a data plan with my carrier but I can't use BIS and the HRT is empty

Like I advised in the thread previously, I suggest just selling that blackberry (after making a backup) and getting a GSM varient which won't have so many issues getting things up and running. The main issue is that, the CDMA radio is primary and most dominant, the GSM roaming sim slot wasn't designed for primary use, but as a secondary roaming radio slot only. That's why it won't work and gives so many people, so many tiresome and trouble to get working.
Flamers, don't even try, I have my waterhose ready
GNU/Linux distros of choice: Ubuntu, Mint (or anything based on debian that's still geared towards beginners and isn't too bloated).

please disregard this post; further down the string I found another link and it worked; there was only one small ipd file (6k) that I unzipped; is that the only file I need for the t-mobile service books?
trying to get the t-mobile service books but the link doesn't work; is there another link that I can use? will the t-mobile books for the storm also work for the bold? so sorry i am new to this... thanks in advance!Last edited by Mak808; 12-23-2012 at 09:25 AM. Thanks so much for all your effort. You know your process works. I have a couple of tweak questions. I was having trouble sending texts and maintaining Cap EDGE. In the engineering screen I was able to change the SMS network to CS. The issue his, however, If and when I reboot, that setting AND the tmob ecn enable revert back to old settings. Have not found a way to "save" them? any wisdom would be appreciated. ALSO, am I correct that visual voicemail will not work on a 9930 with tmobile?
