Home router connectivity 9900

Morning all,

Live in Dubai (UAE) and have du as our network provider.

Have recently updated my 9900 with 7.1.0 Bundle 1149 (v7.1.0.342, Platform5.1.0.276) after a prompt came when backing up to Laptop.

WLAN Version 4.50.196;

Mobile Radio Version 5.0.2.1.1, SV 35

Since then the wireless connectivity to the home router has been poor to zero! all other devices i.e. Wife's iPhone, iTouch, xbox and Laptop have no problems.

Appreciate any advice at all - driving me insane!

I have extremely poor signal in central NJ and after fighting with Verizon for months they asked me to call customer service for the router I have and ask them to manually connect my blackberry to the router, which they did. Just a thougtht

Switch the phone off to see if the phone is interfering with the router's signal. It should not be but, it's worth a try.

If things improve, switch the phone back on and check for poor signal again.

Next, switch off the phone's WiFi radio, again check the other devices for connectivity.

Lastly (it won't be this, but must check it) turn off the carrier network radio and check again.

If this problem is related to the phone then these tests will reveal it to be the case.

Tried the switching between methods with no success.

I have a Netgear Router so may look into connecting manually - if I can.

I don't think the Blackberries have a very good wireless antennae as mine works fine downstairs but will not always connect upstairs where as every other wireless device I have does

I have 80-85% signal strength upstairs on my other devices but the blackberry very rarely connects
