I am a Beta Zone member and got the invite to test out the new 7.1 OS for Tmobile. I am at the "updating software" screen. I have backed up my device and it is now at the 'install' part. It is downloading the 'modules' and has been stuck at module 441 of the 618 modules. What do I do???? It has been stuck at 441 for over an hour. The green status things keeps do it's thing (whatever you call it when there is an install and shows/indicates activity). The screen on my phone doesn't show any activity ie. between computer and phone icons. HELP! How do I get the download to proceed?
The download for this one is different than normal. For this one, you have to allow the Java installations and have your BB connected to your computer.
Not to be flippant, but for this download, RTFM. The instructions point out the differences for this download.
I'm having a problem finding the download on my computer, so I am wondering if this is a method to prevent leaking the OS.
EDIT: Here is more info from the Beta Zone...
BlackBerry 7.1 Features include:
Mobile Hot Spots
WiFi Calling
BlackBerry Tag (NFC Peer to Peer)*
Universal Search Web Engine
*Only on 9900 Devices. Currently Disabled by TMO. Keep you posted on availability. You must have backdoor version PCB-39532-006 which contains the NFC antenna to use Tag and other NFC features. The PCB version is printed on the back of the BlackBerry door.
This one is version 7.1.0.284 The .998 is the bundle.
Great news though, this one contains the Media Sharing via DLNA!
If they released this version with the Hotspot, WiFi Calling, Media Sharing and NFC this phone would have been SICK! Too bad it took them 6 months to get those features out even to BETA!
