    Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has bricked/nuked a 9900 running the latest leaked os 7.1.0.190?
I have been running it for a couple days so far(on a 9900 that was not bricked) and it has been flawless. Love the mobile Hot Spot............though it does drain the battery in a hurry when in use.
Curious to see if it is a software issue that has been bricking the 9900's, and not a hardware issue like many think.
I am also running a second 9900 that was bricked running the 7.0 os, that is now also on 7.1, and it also has been working flawlessly.

How did Mobile Hotspot effect your data plan?

I have been using the very first leak of OS 7.1 which is 7.1.0.74 and no issues what so ever. I honestly think this is a hardware issue because I never had any bricking issues on my Bold when it was on OS 7.0. Also, I work part time at a store in Calgary and found a lot of Telus as a % were returned compared to Rogers and Bell. This may be due to the manufacturing plant of the phone. Made in Mexico 4/5 seems to have the highest bricking as far as I know.

I have been running the bricked 9900 on the 7.1 leak for 3 days now.....even let the battery drain to less than 5%(the supposed cause for many of the bricking issues) and it is still working fine........running on BES as well.

I will post if this 7.1 phone bricks again.

    Regards

It's 7.1.0.74 and that was ancient anyway, so doesn't count. There certainly wasn't a software fix for bricking back then.

My 9900 bricked a couple OS's back, I resurected it with 7.0.0.540. It was running great for a couple months, then 7.1.0.190 came along. Installed it, had it running for a day, then I installed the bbm 6.1 beta from beta zone. While the phone was restarting after install, it just shut off. Then back to the bricked state.

I think you meant to type 7.1.0.74 and I have that right now on my phone with no issues at all. I hope nothing goes wrong because I don't want to spend the time to upgrade my OS now to the new leaked version.

PSA: A bricked device is only a brick as long as it stays dead; if it comes back to life by any means, that would mean it was nuked.
