- Hi guys,
I just got my new 9900 unbranded (no logo) and its the best blackberry ever, But I never got H+ signal then I checked the network mode there r 3G, 2G, 3G&2G.. no H+ option.
We talked about it on our blackberry forum (Indonesia) and we found out that only 9900 with rogers logo got H+ option.
It is not about the provider or the coverage area, it is the network selection.. we use the same provider, same coverage area, but different types of 9900. One is unbranded, the other one is rogers.
Unbranded 9900 : 3G, 2G, 3G&2G
Rogers 9900 : 3G/H+, 2G, 3G/H+&2G
Is there any way to solve this issue?Last edited by putra.respaty; 09-17-11 at 08:16 AM.

someone can correct me if im wrong, but i dont think you'l get tmobile's 'hspa+' with a rogers bold 9900. since they have different operating bands for their hspa+08-24-11 02:40 PMLike 0 - Your service provider MUST support the HSPA+ which is a GSM network band in order for you to get it. I am on Telus Canada and I get H+ in Calgary, but when I move out of Calgary in to other areas, I get 3G. So, even in Canada depend on your coverage, it changes automatically. Telus for example has H+ in the area of City of Calgary, but not in rural areas giving me a 3G signal.
I would call the service provider and ask. Also RIM has the ability to disable any radio band (even though I never seen one) on the phone by programming the radio chip. In countries where there are government regulations for HSPA+, may have the band disabled. Indonesia may have some regulations on H+ may be?08-24-11 02:43 PMLike 0 -
me, my friend in singapore and 2 of my friends in Indonesia are using 9900 with the same provider that offer H+, one is rogers and one is unbranded.. the rogers got the H+ on network selection mode, but not the unbranded one.

08-24-11 02:44 PMLike 0 - There are 2 type of unbranded 9900's, one for the tmobile frequencies, and one for the ATT/rogers/telus frequencies.
I've got one running on ATT with H+, I'd verify that you have the correct frequencies for your carrier.08-24-11 03:33 PMLike 0 - Crucial_XtremeRetired ModeratorAlso keep in mind that if this a pre-release 9900 that someone sold you, it will not get H+. Go into the "About" screen and post what bands are listed under the firmware version.08-24-11 03:37 PMLike 0

- What model number and vendor ID is your 9900 versus your friend's? There are 6 different 9900 models RDV{E,V,Y}{71,72}UW and each has a different set of frequencies. I suspect an "unlocked" 9900 can be any of those 6, and it may not support the frequencies you need on your network. All are quadband GSM so that won't matter, but they each have different UMTS frequencies.
It's the vendor ID that identifies what network the device was intended for. You can find the vendor ID via Alt+Shift+H, and the model number is under the battery cover.08-24-11 03:52 PMLike 0 - You're not wrong. T-Mo and Videotron have a different (from other carriers) 3G and 4G frequency from what I know. He'll never get H+ on that BB08-24-11 03:54 PMLike 0

My phone is Singapore set (listed on the box) and the vendor ID is 619 which I couldn't find it on google, the maximum number I could find is 613 (Brightpoint Singapore)
My friend's rogers 9900 is 107 ...

no logo carrier09-02-11 06:36 AMLike 0 - Looks like it is best to order an unlocked Rogers Bold 9900. Can others here also post which ones do and don't get the H+. Hong-Kong and Thailand release their Bold 9900's soon and I don't want to pick one up that doesn't have H+.09-02-11 07:58 AMLike 0

damn it.
I called singtel customer service and they told me they didn't have H+ mode also.
I tried to tweet @blackberryhelp and they told me my model didn't support H+.09-02-11 04:43 PMLike 0 - All 9900s have H+ hardware support in them it is a firmware issue that the H+ isn't showing on some carriers.
Vodafone 9900s are HSPA compatible but do not show the H+ logos.
Don't ask me why, I have heard the 4XX firmware should update the menus on phones that only show 3G instead of H+ on compatible networks.09-02-11 05:50 PMLike 0 -
- I am in the uk on a Rogers 9900 and on tmobile it shows h+, however, is till get crap speeds, so I think the h+ showing is just a software glitch. I also saw h+ and 3G on orange in France.09-02-11 06:51 PMLike 0
