google sync - errors (is it the end?)

Can anyone confirm/deny if google sync is still working?

I noticed a lack of meetings today in my calendar only to discover google has been throwing up a 404 error, and won't list my calendar any longer for sync.

Have done the usual sign out & in again, it loads nothing and won't offer me my shared calendar any longer.

Is this the end, or just something broken (or maybe something broken my end)

I'm having the same problem. No idea.

I thought they used to end these things on a nice date like the end of the month, but mine stopped working on December 13th. :/

Ok - that date rings a bell for my last sync before I started messing about with it...

I'm not installing my gmail mail account on the BB so they can go poke it. I'll have to find someone else with calendar sync which works. I don't and won't use outlook and Its unlikley talking to support that I'll get the google connector to play nice with my BESx and Atlas servers.

I looked at some other threads and it looked like Google really did turn it off: Now that Google has stopped Sync with BB Calendar what do I do next?

I managed to get my calendar set up with BIS but I had to create multiple Gmail accounts (I had three calendars) and had to export/import. I will certainly miss having things synced right away.

Did it force you to sync your mail boxes for those 3 accounts as well?

The only work round I can see will be to set it up then delete the service books for the mail push, leaving the calender sync

Yes, it did, unfortunately. I guess if you create a new address that won't receive any mail, it wouldn't be so bad?

Btw this is not a Google problem. It's is rim,so inability to accommodate subscribed calendars..ics links to any blackberry handset or playbook. Google was the band aide and Google no longer is supporting that.

Time for androids as Google seems to be the one company that will survive, thrive and innovate in the future. Bb products seem like expensive paperweight.

actually, its google. they shut down their servers that use the services bb and wp8 use. I've done a full swapover to Outlook, and it works perfectly for me

It's a blackberry issue as the bb doesn't accept .ics calendar links.
How are you getting this to work with outlook? Is it outlook online or are talking about a wired update?

The whole point is to do this wirelessly.

I use a wired update via BBDM. I connect maybe once a week and sync the entire yearly calendar with a lot less duplicates than the google sync wireless way.

Bb has no wireless solution for this. Sorry, that is a fail. iOS works perfectly on this type of .ics calendar integration. How does android deal with it?

Indeed somewhat of a fail and I'm not moving to outlook or deploying an exchange server just to get working calendar sync.

Re the mail boxes - I may do some testing over the next week or so - if it makes a mail box I can delete the service books, long as they don't come back its all good. Failing that I will (as you say) make another new mail account and move my entire calendar.

I would of thought we might have got ics and or xml calendar OTA sync by now...

I just tested the calendar sync on my Verizon 9930 and worked fine. New calender created 1 minute ago and was on gmail calender online within 30 seconds. Syncs to my PlayBook as well but I had to force the sync on that but I'm sure it would have done it automatically eventually.

Also just got the reminder on my Dev Alpha so it syncs to that as well.

my calendars quit syncing as well. i went to setup in my phone deleted my gmail acct and reactivated it and it is now working

After seeing the last post about removing and re-adding the Gmail account I looked to do the same. I didn't have the account setup in email because I don't use that account really.
I have now added my account and it seems to be syncing all my calendar and contacts.
Keeping fingers crossed.

Well I can't even Add a NEW Gmail Account to my PHONE because it says Invalid Username and Password. I JUST created this new one not even 20 minutes ago, I can log in ONLINE no problem, but Phone won't connect to it, nor through my MAIL on Windows 8. IMAP is Enabled, all settings are correct. I cant get anything.
