I noticed a small circle near the message led in front of my 9930. I don't think it is a camera. If not, what is it? Is it some kind of light sensitive led? Thx in advance.

Light and proximity sensor. Senses ambient light and dims/brightens display accordingly if selected in the options. Also senses when phone is next to your head on a phone call and dims/locks the screen to prevent any touches from your cheek.

Not a camera. It is a proximity sensor to turn the screen off while on a call.

it is the sensor that turns screen off when its against your face. helps avoid hitting buttons with your face

It is for a future upgrades... You can buy a small webcam and install in it. For now, it is the proximity and light sensor.

Xray camera, it can see through clothes. And it will activate automatically after it has been in your pocket for 5 minutes. Then it uploads to your facebook page! Hahaha!

BTW on my first 9900 the sensor was visible, now on this second 9900 its only visible in sunlight.

It seems on the later Bolds they've hidden it.
