Smile Free 9900 with 2 year AT&T Contract :)

So I called AT&T a few times before announcement and told them I have been waiting since May. The reps took notes multiple times. At one point I said I am going to switch to Sprint with all 4 of my lines. I didn't because a manager convinced me to stay by promising me some sort of resolution when the phone comes out. So I waited.

A couple weeks later, added a line (my cousin switched over to AT&T) and ordered iPhone 4S. Called AT&T today and told them that. I also have an iPhone 4 that I am going to activate on one of my other lines. Told them that too. I could have switched ASAP if I wanted to. Sprint would have paid for my ETF fees and offer me the 9930 free with unlimited data plans at a cheaper price. Plus they have the iPhone 4S too for my other lines. Told them that too. Demanded a free phone as per our agreement of some resolution. I was on the phone for a total of 30 min. (more details on, but this was just the gist of the convo)

Basically this is what AT&T told me.
$200.00 credit applied right now. Go and purchase any phone you want on a 2 year contract.

Checked online and surely it was there!

Just shows how loyalty paid off, although I wanted to kill them earlier!!!!

Now I just need to get NFC to work once I get the phone... (it's locked via software update as of now)

I cannot wait to get it first thing Sunday morning!!!!

Btw, white 9900 phone conversion coming soon (give me a couple weeks, OEM parts coming in the mail; some already here!!! )

*I still have to pay tax as of now, but I will probably try and get that waived once I get the phone. The rep on the line with me was being sort of stubborn. He wasn't a manager.

EDIT: I know the prices on the poll are not exact for you OCD freaks like me, but just be reasonable and estimate.

of course!
It's going to be done in like 2 weeks or so. (hopefully less depending on how busy I am)

Probably going to go for a blacked out theme until all the parts come in.
= matte black bezel, matte black lining within keyboard

had it on my 9700 and it was awesome!

so just sit tight and stay tuned!

don't you care about the limited 1-year warranty? I just brought a 9900 online and the seller told me that there was no dings, but it came with a couple along the edge of the metal bezel. thinking about changing it since it's brought from ebay, there probably is no chance for tmobile to do a warranty exchange or anything..

Of course I care. If you are careful and do not rip the sticker on top of the screws, you can just reverse the process. AT&T/T-Mobile will never know.

Btw, I think you still get a 1 year warranty from the carrier of the phone you bought. It's one year from purchase date, so you should have warranty until at least August even though you bought from eBay, but double check.

hmm, I wonder what the sticker looks like. I didn't dare to open it but seeing how bad the bezel is scratched up, I want to change it out and maybe the outer screen too, there are some fine scratches. where can i buy these parts? how much was the white housing kit?

just an update...
so I tried installing the "OEM" white parts, but it did not work out so well.
I decided to just return them until there are real OEM white parts, maybe I'll go for red or something more interesting.

sorry guys I was looking forward to it too.
however, the disadvantage I found with the white 9900 is that the back border around the battery door and camera lens is a glossy plastic. it feels cheap unlike the premium smooth surface of the black 9900s.

There is no such a real OEM parts, there is a few reputable sites selling them as OEM but they are not OEM.
