Hi guys, i cant seem to find the answer to this through search, but I dropped my phone in water and now the battery dies extremely quickly (it can go about an hour of usage) ... or 1 night overnight without usage. I am hesitant to buy a new battery for the phone since the new battery may die quickly as well. Does anybody have experience / knowledge on his topic?

    thanks.

First thing that goes when a phone is water damaged is the battery, the battery shorts itself and shorts out components. I would ditch the old battery right now, and buy a new one. Also make sure that the whole phone has fully dried out as well.

Might be IC problem. I once had bold 9700 and drop it in the water. Once it dried, no matter which battery I use it will drained so fast, sometimes died at 50%. The worst is it died right after I pull off the charger. Sent to be repair and they told me its ic corrupted.

thanks, so i am assuming that you purchased a new device afterwards? I really want to keep my current phone sadly. I will purchase a new battery from best buy, hopefully it fixes the problem at hand.
