    Have a 9900 that was dropped, now it boots to the desktop and immediately reboots.

    Any hope of breathing life into it? I've tried pulling the battery, SIM and SD cards.

    Wipe and reload software? But try to backup first or use loader to make a backup?

    It won't stay on, as soon as it hits the homes certain it reboots.

    He's probably going to end up replacing the 9900 with a Z10.

    I'm pretty sure he has BB Protect on the 9900 but BB10 doesn't use BB Protect the same way as OS7 did. How does he restore his contacts from BB Protect?

    I was thinking I might have to put his SIM card into my 9800, back it up and restore it using BB Link. Will that work?

    Assuming of course all his contacts are on the SIM card.
