It's carrier dependent so unless you install leaks or another carriers version, you might be waiting a while.

Unless you carrier or someone elses carrier pay for it, it will not happen.

With BB10 just weeks away, you will not see many more updates for the 9900.

Do we need a new update? I'm pretty happy with the latest one.

not sure why you think carriers pay for OS upgrades.

We've had several upgrades released recently, for models that have been out about 4 years, so I'm sure we'll have upgrades for the 99x0 series long after BB10 is out.

You will see very few if any more real upgrades for the OS. Stick a fork in it as the 9900 is done!

Sorry man, but I have it on good authority the carriers do not pay for OS, and since the 8900 just received one, that pretty much kills your entire assessment.

Of course we will see "less" updates. OS7 or nowadays 7.1 is already pretty mature and thus needs less updates. As already stated officially by Thorsten Heins, OS7.x will be supported further on.

Whatever happened to the "if ain't broke don't fix it" thing? I'm satisfied as is humanly possible, don't see anything all that wrong that needs addressed, don't feel anything is missing.
