Ditched my Bold 9900
2 weeks ago i ditched my Bold 9900 for the iPhone.
I think its a much better device than the Bold. RIM is dying.
What do you guys think?

Re: Ditched my Bold 9900
I was thinking of getting the iphone 5 as well but I didn't wanna look like a fool. The 5 doesn't have anything interesting that sets it apart from the 4s. When bb10 comes out every apple fan will be hatin. Good luck with the 5 though. Let me know how it goes. I hate the fact that you bought a phone that looks exactly like the 4s but its your money so enjoy

Re: Ditched my Bold 9900
The real test is how you feel a week, month or more. The euphoria of getting any new device only lasts so long and then you are down to the facts and how it works for you!
My advise from experience is do not sell your Blackberry yet! - 10-09-2012, 06:51 AM #6Follow me on Twitter www.twitter.com/cthaddeus

Re: Ditched my Bold 9900
As always with these type of posts it depends on what you want from your smart phone. I spent 6 months with the 4S and came back to the 9900 - what was most important to me was not a wide choice of apps but a few key ones, and my 'Berry does those perfectly. The keyboard makes it the logical device of choice for me and I find I am significantly quicker when I email, tweet etc.
Personal choice - but agree with the greggebhardt advising not to sell your BlackBerry - you might want to go back!My BlackBerry history:

Ditched my Bold 9900
i gave up my bold 9930 for an iphone 4S last April. well needless to say i sold the Iphone and got another Bold. i just love everything about it. also i've been a BB user since my 8330 curve. if you've only known a Qwerty smartphone with an unbelievable keyboard like i have, then a touch screen typing experience just dont cut it.

Re: Ditched my Bold 9900
The iPhone is great depending on your needs. I had an iPhone at one point and it was cool having all the popular apps, but it felt like I was torturing myself.
I had so much trouble typing on the keyboard, my emails would come in late or not at all, and I just didn't feel productive. I was constantly charging the battery and engaging it. I finally had enough and went back to Blackberry. Now I have an iPod Touch and my Bold 9930 and its the best combo ever! Its the best of both worlds. I use my Blackberry as my daily driver and use the iPod Touch for all the fun apps and games...with no worry of battery life, high data usage, or trying to send texts/important emails on that teeny tiny keyboard. - 10-09-2012, 09:08 AM #12

Re: Ditched my Bold 9900
I left my Bold 9900 after 3 days of owning it and got a Galaxy S2, kept it for about a week and went and got a Bold 9900 again, stuck with that for almost 5 months then got myself a Galaxy S3 and loved it for a month but im back to my trusty Bold 9900 again and have had almost 5 of them since its release because of water damage on one and another had a keyboard issue, all in all i still love the Bold 9900 more than any other device even though i occasionally switch to my S3 for music and stuff but BB10 is around the corner i feel asthough RIM will take back there market share and be back at the what they do best is produce high quality products with productivity and style in mind, I had a Iphone 4S owner the other day stop me and ask what kind of phone i was using and showed them my Bold and they were speechless they never knew that Blackberry made such "Nice Looking products" is what they said and then said they wanted one and would get one within the next week...

Re: Ditched my Bold 9900
100% agree with that one. I carry an iPod touch and a blackberry. The nice thing is I can listen to my music on my iPod all I want and not worry about killing my blackberry battery while I'm out. I can play whatever games I want on my iPod and use a few apps, have access to the iTunes store, easy sync. If I need to communicate, I take out the BB. The battery lasts me at least 12 hours if not more. If I combined both devices into 1, I'd prob get 6 hours at best. Plus, I never go over 1GB of data on the BB in a month, I only use it for email, texts, calls, maybe the browser when I'm on the go but that's rare, and maps rarely.

Re: Ditched my Bold 9900
I've jumped ship and have tried both android and iphone. After a month or two when the new phone excitement wears off, when I realize I don't really need an app for that, I always come back to blackberry. I just works like no other for things you really need; communication.

Re: Ditched my Bold 9900
iPHONE and Galaxy - awesome devices, for media and apps. As a business tool, not so great. You will decide what you like better . It's about what you prefer, not what others think. RIM isn't "dying" as you put it. They are still a powerhouse and honestly, this whole "the (RIM) sky is falling" tires me. They have lot a slot of market share, but they are far from dead these days, with better last quarter results than expected. I believe the bleeding has stopped and they will soon start the climb back up. Will they even be on top again? Doubt it, but being in that race in top 2-3 would be more than adequate! At least they're not Facebook. an empty shell with no sustainable revenue model that had their 15 minutes of fame, at the shareholder's expense.

Re: Ditched my Bold 9900
Most of what I read here are example of personal preference. I also have an iPod touch and it's great for music and set it up with Lotus Notes Traveler to receive work emails from work. I've tried composing and responding to emails on the iPod but just don't like it. I prefer the Blackberry for email and text.
I have no doubt other phones are great but prefer my 9900 to anything out there. - 10-09-2012, 05:59 PM #22

Ditched my Bold 9900
Iphones look weird to me, I had the 4s in white and it was not wide enough. I hated everything about it, sold it and got a galaxy s2 and liked it but hated android and missed my 9900. Got two 9900's for the price of 1 iphone
