whats the difference between the 9900 and 9790? my upgrade for tmobile comes december 9th and i want to leave this 9700. The 9790 is newer but which is the better phone it terms of specs and looks. Which phone wins?

9900 is a bit speedier 1.2 ghz vs. 1.0 ghz on 9790 but it is more of a size preference

I wouldn't mind having a 9790 as a secondary BB.

I like the idea of a phone that has similar specs as my 9930 as long as it is lower cost.

mostly form factor , if you are used to the keyboard on the 9700 , keep on the 9790 . but if you like a bigger screen w/ wider keyboard go w/ the 9900 .

BOTH include touch screens , but i have to say the 9900s styled w/ the real metallic sidings won me over from the 97xx series . its curved classically and the backing for the case is very well made , even if its not real carbon fibre - its represents blackberry quality at its finest .

BUT auto focus it does miss on the 9900 , but its do-able . unless youre a photo junkie , get a real dslr. because pictures are just digital .

9900: 720p recording in .3gp , 9790: vga recording >>> +1 9900
9900: 5mp (no auto focus), 9790: 5mp auto focus >>> +1 9790
9900: touch = 9790: touch screen
9900: 66 mm keyboard width , 9790: 60 mm keyboard width >>> preference

Thanks for the extensive explanations people. I think im going to go and get the 9900 with my upgrade and if the new bbx phones get good reviews ill buy that one outright and sell the 9900. i Dont take many pictures so auto focus doesn't really matter much to me. I feel like the 9790 and 9900 should have front facing cameras but i guess they dont because i cant find that in any description.

The 9790 also has a lower pixel density due to a smaller, lower res screen.
