When I upgrade wirelessly it the back up restores perfectly.
I need to use desktop because latest update work terribly.
My address book has multiple address books and when desktop restores gets double addresses.
Is there a way to get it to restore exactly as is?

Do you syncronize your contact with google/outlook/yahoo? If yes, backup your bb first using desktop manager and choose custom backup. exclude address/contact from backup.

When you re install your OS, exclude backup action from reinstalling action.

after the reinstallation is done, then you can restore your previous backup data to your BB.

If you don't syncronize your contacts wirelessly. you can eliminate double contact/address by using an apps. I forget the name, but you can search it on BB apps world or search it with search engine.

I do not synchronize with desktop. I back up- then install- then do a restore.
I have enterprise server and no other mail allowed-so no desktop sync.

I was looking at the various paid apps for getting rid of my duplicate entries, then found out AOSLED free version has the the function. I initially had problems as it was only doing a few at a time and stopping, then I excluded it from application monitor and once it was allowed to run it worked perfectly.
