Hello, I have a Bold 9900 on Version 7.0.0 Bundle 1465

I only got the handset today but when i make a call the other person can hear me okayish but they sound very crackly and muffled.

This only happens when i'm using the handset, on loudspeaker it's absolutely perfect which makes me very curious as to why this may be happening.

I have tried a hard reset etc and there's nothing else wrong with the phone.

Any ideas?

I would check your cover/skin to see if it is covering the mike. Close to the bottom on the right.

Hmmm today is the first day of few that I have put the Otterbox Commuetr Case back on mine and so I will check to see if Mine is crackily or muffled as well. Without the case the speaker, bt headset they are crackily.

Thanks for the response. I dont have a cover or skin on the phone but i'll give it a bit of a wipe and a clean to see if that makes a difference. Any other ideas?

Try updating your OS.

Personally, I would return the phone for an exchange. There is no reason to expect anything less than perfection regarding sound quality. My 9900 is perfect in this regard.

Return the device for another one, or get your money back, sounds like your 9900 is defective.

Do you have a 9900 or a 9930? Also what OS are you using (option, device, about device version, third line down )

9900 and i'm on 7.0 bundle 1465 (v7.0.0.296 platform 5.0.0.496)

I've updated to Bundle 2406 v7.0.0.585 and the problem now seems to of gone away? Weird..

This is the most up to date OS available.

You can update to 7.1 and see if that helps. But I would take it back for a new replacement.

Thanks a lot, downloading now. Is this an official update? I'm on 02 uk, still okay to install?

Do I download via my computer it and then drag it in to my phone once it's connected?

I'm on a mac by the way, can this still be done? The file obviously is an exe. Cheers
