pretty much once ever 2 or 3 weeks when i connect my bb to the DM i get this notification for an update to the core applications. what is that??? ive updated it so many times over the past 2 months and yet i see no differece in any of my apps

ive had that too, most of the time its downgrade but sometimes its upgrade

If you have a newer version of a core application on your device than what is included in your OS on your PC, then it asks you to downgrade.
If you have an older version of a core application on your device than what is included in your OS on your PC, then it asks you to upgrade.

If you want to see what the upgrade is, click on the "Applications" button.
After it loads you can expand the "core applications" selection and scroll through it to see what DM is referencing/changing.
Most likely it is upgrading/downgrading your BBID. I've seen that a lot lately.
The highest version I've seen is v7.1. (at least on .794)
But the OTA version that BBM/AppWorld always asks to be upgraded to is v7.3.

If you have v7.3 on your device, just ignore the request to downgrade. If the BBID is the issue.
If not, you will be going through a constant cycle of downgrading just to be asked to upgrade.

I have the same issue. I downgraded once using my DM and after it was done, I went to App World on my phone and it asked me to update my BBID.. Doesn't make sense...
