Contemplating move from 9780 to 9900
Hi All. I don't need BB 10 and can probably get a 9900 upgrade at n/c. I once had to transfer an old 9780 to a new (refurbished) 9780 using Desktop Manager and it was seamless and easy. Would this be the same with different phones and OS on the Desktop Mgr I have from BB 6.0. I understand the keys are larger a bit - noticeable? ANy other advice?? Thanks

Not all apps works from OS6 to OS7, but most do. The one think I've noticed when transfering the apps between my 9780 and 9900 with DM, some of my apps would have the wrong sreen resolutions.
Both Bold's are very good in their own rights, but I give the edge to 9900. For me its the best BB.Thanked by:Richard427 (01-21-2013)

Unless you get a really good deal, don't sign a contract. Blackberry 10 represents the future. Two of the things worth waiting for are most likely better battery life and an incredibly fluid OS. I have also heard that the prices with a contract will be around 150. It doesn't make sense to pay a lot or get a 9900 right now with a two year contract.

but not every one wants to jump ship just to make their selves skint keep that in mind
- 01-22-2013, 07:36 AM #10
Or jump ship to a buggy device. Just remember how it was for people who went to OS7 devices as soon as they came out compared to thoses who waited for the bugs to be ironed out before they bought !!!
No reason why BB10 will be any different.
I wouldn't consider BB10 for at least 6 months after release.Bold 9900 on Vodafone UK running BL Ultimate Hybrid RC15 on Do Co Mo .923 Base and .sfi

I would wait six months before switching to BB10
Back up your 9780, and then use switch feature in BB desktop to switch data and BBM contacts and pin (do not switch apps/media) Then you can backup from the 9870 to the 9900.Thanked by:westiewanderer (01-24-2013)

I have to wait until May to upgrade, but I would happily upgrade as soon as its available.
Not all OS 7 devices were buggy. I bought my 9930 in October 2011 and havent had major issues like others experienced. Most of my issues were with OS updates. - 01-23-2013, 08:28 AM #14
The keyboard on the 9900/9930 is a dream. It's like typing on marshmallows and still delivers the feedback you want. My only issue with my 9930 was my service with Verizon. Text messages were constantly failing. It was so frustrating. I don't fault the phone, I fault my service.
