I'm with Rogers and when I visit Starbucks or anywhere they feature free hotspots, my phone connects to it and works perfectly fine. I have no data plan, just Unlimited Social Networking and IM. So I'm confused?

Well I don't know 'bout it now but when I was with the stock OS. Whenever I switch my wifi on in a Hotspot area this popup shows up telling me some hotspots may charge me money and asks me if I want to continue. I'll try to capture it on video next time.

i think you mean you have 'wifi' working on your bold not 'mobile hotspot' which is a totally different thing.

wifi on your phone - ie. can browse on your phone
mobile hotspot = making a wifi zone using your cell's data plan
