CB, anyone got a chance to time the bootup?
I was wondering if anyone at BBW had a chance to check how long it takes for it to boot.
It looks sooo fast! God I can't wait! - 05-03-2011, 06:39 AM #2
Bump!
Good question. I'd like to see how much faster boots are too. It's not a kangaroo. It's not voodoo. It's voodooroo. - 05-08-2011, 06:05 AM #4
It is unlikely that they would want anyone doing that sort of thing with beta software since they would tend to be working on optimisations of things like battery life, boot times, etc. up until the point that the software goes to carriers for final testing prior to release.
An empty os6 device takes about 2 mins to reboot so you would hope that at worst they reduced that to below 90 seconds or ideally halved it and also that the faster processor would ensure that the boot times didn't increase so much when the device was more heavily loaded with data. - 09-06-2011, 02:17 PM #5
I figured I revive this thread since real world expirience is out and with over 30 apps, 16GB card half full of photos and music, on OS .353 this thing is taking about 4.5 minutes to boot, not impressed at all by that, but well compensated by all the great things.
