- Hi folks, I've just got Bold 9900 AT&T a couple of days ago, first of all, it has an stunning screen display but a terrible battery life, now what it comes to my concern is that whenever I insert a SIM card, it automatically switches to 4G, i've been tring to switch it to 2G or GSM mannually, but every time after i did that it auto always switches back to 4G, thus causing lots of battery life. Is there any issue with the device or the build? Im using 7.1. P.S. my device is unlocked version of AT&T 9900. Thx.08-22-12 10:44 PMLike 0

- Maybe 4g or HSPA is the new standard, probably can't switch to 2G I don't see an option. Just says HSPA/3G/EDGE for me on Rogers.

Is there any At&t official firmware released ? or the firewares for 9900 can apply for all the branded 9900s?08-23-12 12:00 AMLike 0
- The solutions you propose is a bit of a double-edged sword, since downgrading to 7.0 may decrease your battery life. In other words, 7.1 (especially the later builds) are pretty solid with battery life even with HSPA+.
Still, it's strange how you don't have that option. I have an option for 3G/HSPA+, 2G, or both (which shouldn't be used in most circumstances).08-23-12 12:18 AMLike 0 - The solutions you propose is a bit of a double-edged sword, since downgrading to 7.0 may decrease your battery life. People who don't have AT&T still have the option, even on the same OSes. So, no there is no way to have that option other than to downgrade to either 7.0, or I believe the last 7.1 OS to still have the option was 7.1.0.47. There really is no advantage though because as masahiro said, the 7.1 OSes have better battery life even with 4G on than you would get on 2G/3G on one of the older OSes.08-23-12 01:29 AMLike 0
