I am looking to upgrade to one of the newest devices, but wanted thoughts on which has the better camera/video. I know the 9900 does not have autofocus, but are the pictures still decent? And which would you guys say has the better 720 video recording? I am a huge fan of physical keyboards, wanted to try a full touchscreen device. Video is more important than photos.
    Thanks!

I think the 9900 has very good video recording. While I can say that pictures are horrible without autofocus

I can't speak for the 9860 but I can say that the 9900 does do very nice video recording

and while I have the 9860 and can't speak for the 9900, I will say that the pics with autofocus and 720hd video recording on my phone are both awesome. The 5mp camera on my phone takes better pictures then my 12mp point and shoot.

So there is no choppiness during playback on a TV or pc screen?

People harping on the 9900/9930 camera need to look up the pic thread. It is just fine. A little weak on macro-shots, but overall, a really excellent camera/video recorder.

I agree. I've seen pics from the 9900 and see nothing wrong with them.

Very good. I currently have the Tour and video is decent. I also had the first gen torch and video was very choppy on playback. I just want to make sure the latest model aren't chilly compared to the Torch.

9900 video is excellent and beautiful. Photos however are horrible If you dont mind the form factor or waiting a bit I would reccomend the 9790!

I am not sure if i like the physical buttons on 9790, but the edge to edge keys look pretty sweet.

I was ready to be very disapointed with the camera before I got my 9900.
Gotta be honest its perfectly fine, takes great quick shots and the video recording is very good.
High detail close ups aren't the best but you can play with the zoom and just hold the phone a bit further away to still get good results.
Overall its not something I dislike on the phone, if anything its nice I can take quick pics. A lot of other phones take ages to take a pic that's not always better!

let me put it like this. I have 2 1/2 year old boy and now a 2 week old boy. My tour takes great photos, but 4 seconds pass between hitting the button and the photo actually being taken. So the 9900 takes a fast pic? like shutter speed is good? Some of my Tour pics become blurring due to my oldest son moving at the last second.

The shutter speed isn't that quick as blurry shots still sometimes happen but you deffo won't have 4 seconds wait, its more like 1 second, 2 seconds max so people have to stay still for less time if you get wot I mean.

I did a lot of Youtube searching/watching while Im looking for my next phone. I saw HD video from iPhone 4/4S, GSII, HTC Titan, BB 9860 and a couple others. Honestly, the 9860 had one of the sharpest closeup pictures out of all of them. Obviously being 720p vs some 1080p, the longer range shots weren't quite as sharp as others. I was extremely impressed with the 9860's video ability.

Unfortunately, for me, the 9860 is just too small and I'm going to give the HTC Titan and WP a try until BBX comes around on my next contract.
