Can you put 2 appts in calendar for same date/time? If so, how?

Of course you can... just create a new Appointment and ignore the "Conflict" message..
Calendar will warn you if the appt you are trying to create conflicts with an existing one.. but will not prevent you from creating it..

I do it all the time. As scouts36 said just ignore the conflict message.
