It may be premature to state this but I can't find a single flaw with the build quality on this device. I replaced 4 Torches, 2 9780s and 4 9700s. I am very picky given it is a $550 + tax cost and honestly the fit and finish on this is absolutely outstanding.
Sure the wheels might come off of it over time but at an initial walk through for a day it is truly fantastic. If the battery is comparable to the 9700 then this is a real winner.
My time with the dbl tapping 9780 was almost comical. The build quality on this 9900 is stunning imo. I love the ss buttons and finish around the edge of this beauty.
Sorry to burst the quality bubble, but I've got a fairly bad one. The bottom piece where the carrier branding goes just below the enter key is sticking straight off from the device for me -- right out of the box
I've already contacted my carrier and my dealer about it. I hope the replacement that's coming doesn't have the same issue.

Ughh, sorry to hear about that. I saw one at a Rogers store where the back housing was sticking out of the unit. The part where the two connection points for the pod charging are. Hope your replacement is defect free.
Unfortunately, there are manufacturer defects with mass produced tech.
Early days but remember the howling was immediate about build quality right out of the gate for the last several . Certainly there are going to be lemons in any manufacturing process but we're not seeing widespread complaints, yet.
