Default Browser Question for Bold OS 7.1.0.921 (Sprint)

First, what is the lastest OS for Blackberry Bold 9930 with Sprint? I had 921 but am currently downgrading to 467 because of a small browser feature that I would like back, praying 467 has the feature. I was wondering if I can change that without downgrading???

Some people might think it's dumb but on the one I had before, in the browser when I click "go to" it would take me to a page where I had the option to change my search engine. Like it had a google icon on the side with a drop down button and I could change it to dictionary.com or whatever. Also, it would have my history under it. But now, it takes me to the blackberry bookmark page.

And I hate it, it just slows up my usual flow. Now to search on google, I have to go to my home page, which is google but it takes forever loading the google home page. Before, I could quickly click menu, s (stop), g (go to) and the search bar would be there for google.

THANKS SO MUCH TO ANYBODY THAT EVEN KNOWS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT LOL

The current Sprint OS is 921. Don't remember whether the previous OS had the feature you're looking for. When I click on "Go to" I also get the Bookmark page but when I scroll down the page my History is right there under it. Haven't found a way to change the search engine - sorry.

EDIT: The only thing I see is clicking on the menu button and choosing Options then scrolling down and selecting Manage Search Engines. Don't know whether that will help you with your flow tho.

Ok, the current OS for the Sprint 9930 is 7.1.0.267. You guys are trying to fool me. The "bundle" is 921.....if I'm not mistaken

Just gave it a whirl, and although you can't just click a drop down it should do the job without having to downgrade - shouldn't have to load the whole Google page.

Yes yes and yes. I was just confirming the number that was given. The OS is .267 and the bundle is 921. I was more worried about the search engine issue.

I don't think it's OS related. It's your service provider pushes the browser configuration to your phone.

    Here it is :

So you're saying it wouldn't matter which OS we were running. If we've got Sprint, we're gonna get same browser experience so a downgrade wouldn't change a thing.

If it is Service Provider pushed like he/she said, then yes, it will not change anything just because you downgraded.

Lol. Thanks. Sometimes I have to put things in the simplest form possible to make sure I'm understanding it right.

So, Rookie Question: Is OS .267 and bundle 921 the same thing? I never paid attention to these details of my blackberries until now lol.

It is as long as Google is set as your default search engine under Options - Manage Search Engines. You can change it up and use Dictionary.com or Wikipedia and then switch it back to Google. I'm glad you asked this question cuz it made me do some digging around.
