Any advice is appreciated. Is this a good device to get now.=? Will this still get updates? Do not care on 3g vs 4g. Tired of waiting on Classic coming to Verizon. Have had the Curve and Bold 9650. Had the Q10,went back to bold. It went out totally. Need to get ne device. Thanks.

Why would you like the Classic ?

( It has the same buttons plus trackpad , menu and back keys.)

Maybe you try the full touchscreen models ?

Yep it does. As I say, I liked the Q10 otherwise. but I for one do not like all the swiping on touchscreens.

I prefer physical call keys also but I'm using the Q10 and I would not go back to my Bold 9930 just for those reasons. The 9930 runs slow and feels completely outdated after using BB10. I power on the Bold 9930 to familiarize myself every now and then. If you can get one dirt cheap why not, it's still a solid little phone.

Are you waiting for Verizon to sell it in order to get it "on contract" instead of purchasing it directly, yourself? Otherwise: If your Q10 worked then you can go to ShopBlackBerry.com and pick up a Classic of your own (unlocked and not covered with Verizon logos).

I don't think the unlocked Classic from blackberry store or Amazon runs on Verizon. Or does it?

My contract is not up until March 2015. The Q10 is out. My son smashed it. Waiting for Verizon to sell I rckon. Bummer.

You cannot use the Classic sold on ShopBlackBerry.com on the Verizon network. That phone is GSM for while Verizon still uses CDMA for voice.

The 9900 is an amazing phone for its day. It still is. However in order for you to use email or internet your carrier must support BIS. The new BB10 phones can run on any smartphone plan. Whether carriers will continue to support BIS is a question mark.

I did find the 9930 on Ebay for $147.00. Love it. However, does anyone know how to access the call history. When I go tp phone icon it does not show it. Thanks.

Thanks. I have tried this, but when viewing call notes ( history) it is empty. I have gotten calls also. Something is wrong? Need to change somewhere?
