Love this thinness, but that device looks like it's from 2004. I understand they wanted to go back to the original Bold format, but RIM could've given the thing an updated look. In that picture with the 9700 and the Torch, the Bold Touch looks like the oldest phone.
No it doesn't. And I'm willing to bet if you see these in person side by side and in your hand, you would not think so either. The Bold Touch is markedly thinner, has a real metal frame, and the screen of course will be sharp as ****.
Oh and I know you were just exaggerating, but which 2004 phone does it look like? :0
Yeah this isn't black bezel or chrome finish were talking about. Were talking about high quality stainless steal. For example, the iphone 4 stainless steal band around the phone. It wont chip unless you smash it or something.
Well it all comes down to your preference. Are you the type of person who loves to have games on their phone, web browse, and have the full blackberry experience? If not the blackberry bold 9780 I'd say would be perfect for you if you don't do those things. Hence the new bold has 8 GB on board storage, pinch to zoom web browsing, and a 1.2 gigahertz processor.
The device looks dated already. I think they're trying to please the hardcore BB 9000 fans who never got over losing that form factor.
I'm gonna get one for sure.

I know they said the bezel is "stainless steel". Blackberry is known for plastic "chrome" bezels. But until I have my hands on one, I will believe it when I see it.

I disagree . It resembles the 9000 very much. That was the idea. But it looks far more modern. The pictures of it next to the 9780/9700 I think make those two look out dated. Yeah, like the 900, but completely revamped and modernised.
Definitely looking forward to upgrading to this device from my 8330! Hopefully it releases on vzw this summer! Although it seems it's a little early for speculation on carriers and release dates? Or am I just not looking in the right threads? Lol
