Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum but I've been following CrackBerry for some time. I'm after a BlackBerry. I LOVE the QWERTY keyboard and I need reliable email for my business.

I love the look of the Bold 9900 but I've heard mixed reviews about its battery life. A friend of mine just upgraded to the Curve 9320 and he loves it, although I'm not sure about the battery life?

What is the battery life like in general on the Bold 9900?

there are hundreds of threads around here about battery. you wont find a better performong berry than a 9900. with most of them having 7.1 the battery life has improved greatly than when they were first launched.

    didnt read you last question.

i can go all day with medium/heavy use and be dying at the end of the day. if you are accustomed to plugging your phone in every night the 9900 shall be fine for you in my opinion.

i get a hole day out of my blackberry bold 9900 and i am a medium/heavy user same as eve6er69 if your worrying about battery try having a spare like me but i never use my spare one unless i need to i would never part with this awesome device the bold 9900 is flawless and brilliant screen resolution and they keypad is amazing i have had the 9320 and the screen resolution is just awful but that might be me being picky.

So in general, with heavy use, the Bold 9900 will be fine? I found an online review of the Bold 9900 by CrackBerry - . In the video the guy said that a video will be uploaded of the Bold 9900's keyboard in action... but I haven't managed to find this video

different peoples opinions of heavy use vary. mine is many email, texts, bbm's and other stuff. some other people think streaming all day is heavy. so for the heavy communicator it should last you all day.

I don't plan to stream at all on mine; mainly texts and emails. My definition of heavy use would be texting and emailing all day

Then you should have no problem getting through a whole work day.

If you do there is always the option of carrying a spare battery. The jm-1 is a very thin battery to keep in a pocket.

In terms of battery life, the 9320 should be the best OS7 device out there. It comes with a whopping 1450mAH battery, compared to 1230mAH of the 9900. In addition the CPU is lower clocked and the screen is smaller, both should result in lower drain on the battery. So theoretically the Curve should last longer than the Bold(s), however I don't have any real world comparisons.

However virtually everything else on the Curve is worse: build quality, performance, the keyboard, camera and especially the display with this very low resolution.

Personally I don't have too much of a problem with the 9900s battery. In fact IMO it ain't worse than any other 2011 smartphone. While it could surely be better, it usually lasts me through a day. A long and busy day however can be a tricky story...

Any model you choose from the quoted 3 has its advantages and disadvantages.
What is the most important factor for you?
    1) Best battery life = 9320
    2) AF camera = 9790
    3) best keyboard experience = 9900

So if you need to go one one charge for few days: option #1 would be the only choice. But let's say if you write many emails, and need to stay without charge for 2 days, then it would be simple choice getting 9900 with a spare battery. With 1,5 - 2,5 hour talk time on BT set, ~50 to 150 emails received, and some BBM I am getting on one charge about 14 hours. It can be of course extended when you switch from 3G to 2G network (I keep mine on 3G). But each user has different usage patterns. So that is why there is so many different opinions about the battery life.
