It's terrible ! I've had the device for a few days now, and in all fairness I love it, but this is my first BlackBerry and I have to charge it atleast twice in the day! :@
I do close all apps after i've done using them but that doesnt make any difference, the phone is great, but so far the battery has dissapointed me.

mine took 2 months and .540 for me to be satisfied with my battery life. heavy use on 3g with bridge - thus heavy use on pb bridged can still get me to 7-8 hours at worst. this is is still ok in today's world of smartphones. 3g and heavy use on a modern smartphone will zap the battery whether it be bb iphone or a samsung.

Seeing so many threads about the battery life. I guess we all know that the battery life sucks bigtime, let's hope they find a solution for it. But for now just charge the d**n phone when it's almost empty and get over it!

BB battery beats all other phones hands down. I have had itoy3, itoy4, nex1, s2 before coming back to BB. the very darn reason was BB battery can last me through the day (8am - 3am if i go out drinking). So far it has been fine.

.540 offers the best battery life of all the 7.0 builds that I have tested. It blows away android and apple devices easily.

So far I have found 7.1.0.190 to be on par with the .585/.540 Hybrid which was the best of the 7.0 builds for me.

Easily gets me through a working day which I all that I want.

I find my battery getting better all the time. I'm easily getting 6am-7pm with 30% left and if I have real heavy usage that day, guess what? I have a spare!!! No big deal because this BB9930 is the best PHONE I've ever had....

Same here! Got my 9900 a few days ago. First charge was terrible. Second was way better. Now three charges done. Unplugged 9am (30min phone call, 5 email, 60-70 whatsapp and messenger messages, downloaded quicklaunch, few minutes browsing, checking batterylevel allday long) and took the attached screenshot at 11pm still have 70% battery left.

No i am not a blackberry addict! I am not trying to show all of you that there is noting wrong with the 9900. Just sharing...
    Attached a screenshot of BatteryWatch.

I can't stress enough that for most, the 7.1 builds demonstrate higher battery life.

Also I made a recent post on battery life but to reiterate, if you've only had your phone a few days, wait longer. It took a week for me to get to the excellent battery life I'm having now. But again, make sure you upgrade your OS. I'm on .267

It's my first BlackBerry (heavy iPhone user ) Screenshot exhibits my OS build. I didn't update yet. Just wanted to see how it performs out of the box.

I am a moderate user and my battery drainage was about 1.71%/hr on average, no Wi-Fi and in poor coverage. I'm doing something right I think... On 7.1.0.267

Your OS build is from stone age, update to 7.1 it will do wonders to your battery life.

I think 7.1.0.205 and 7.1.0.284 are the best.

nothing compared to my previous 9700. it was one of blackberry's selling points, now it's just on par w the competition.

WHY they reduced the power of the battery compared to their previous models is the thing i don't understand. especially when the 9900 has more energy intensive features like the touch screen.

if they did it just so they can claim to have made "the thinnest blackberry ever", then the people responsible should just quit the industry forever

I had the same battery issue until 7.1 OS came around. With 7.1 OS we have the ability to trigger Battery Saving Mode which by default starts running at 20%. I changed mine to start running when my battery is at 90% or lower so those battery saving settings can kick in early in the game. By just doing this quick and easy steps you might be able to achieve better battery life.

You can change the Battery Saving Mode setting by goig to Options>Device>Battery Saving Mode.

    I hope that helps...

OMG, the battery life is AMAZING! Definitely the BEST battery I've seen in a phone! I take the charger out at 11:30AM and get home at 9 PM and have a good 60% left! Sometimes even more! VERY GOOD! (And this is on heavy usage)
