This appears to be an old problem (by about a year). BIS service doesnt show a from name in the setup application. All it shows is the email address and reply-to address, but no name. This is not acceptable for any account, and makes it impossible to use for sending email. Has anyone found a solution for this problem?

However, when examining test message with this account I found something very interesting. Messages created and sent with a Blackberry will NOT show a RIM server name in the headers. Everything appears to have been entered and sent from Microsoft servers. Recipient cant tell is came from a Blackberry, other than the crude formatting.

But an hour or more for Microsofts server to first send a message from a Blackberry, and then an hour or more to receive a copy on the device is absurd.

Because Hotmail is not POP, hence there is no need to enter a "from" name. It will use your name that you have set in Hotmail.

Not correct. Name is established and saved in the account. The BIS server isn't using it.
