Hey Guys.
I seem to be in a bit of a dilemma, i happened to crack the screen for my Blackberry bold 9930. The touch works fine with no distortion of image, so im presuming i damaged the digitizer. I wanted to order a replacement screen (LCD Screen+ Digitizer) however they exist in 2 Varieties. the 001 type and the 002 type and i dont know which one to purchase.

My phone is on Verizon if that helps

You have to replace screens like for like. Unfortunately the only way to find out which type you currently have, is to remove it and check.

Also make sure wherever you buy it from that its not a fake chinese aftermarket part. The only way you can get a original is if its removed from another 9900!

That's a heck of a problem to have. So RIM doesn't supply parts to distributors, etc?

I don't blame they do sadly. As inthemix9 has said, I have from experience seen the only way is to get a part from another phone. All the online parts eg on ebay are advertised as OEM/GENUINE but are fake

Yep, you can try Amazon.com I just ordered a track pad it says its been removed form a phone. I just received a fake one from ebay, I installed it and the light around the track pad was a funny.. yellow pale color and you could see the lazer inside the track pad... was the WORST cheap part ever.

you should see the kb crap that comes out of truesupplier! Its not just ebay that is selling garbage.

I refuse to buy anything that hasn't come from a bold 9900, im thinking of buying a broken one and salvaging it for parts. They are cheap in my local adds.

i bought mine for $90 and it seems good. no clue if its a knock off or not. no complaints from me...

Thats alot to pay for something that might be fake lol, I just picked up a 9900 for 60 bucks, everything works except the speaker. Ill use it for parts looks great cosmetically.
