I have a 2 year old BB Bold old style, ...I was loading new software on to the phone and halfway thru the process the screen got stuck on backing up data and over heated...I turned the phone off and re booted but it still gets frozen at the same place...anyone help please ???

Have you tried just loading the new software without backing up?

Thanks for tip ...but the phone screen just freezes when I turn it back on every time !

Mine used to freeze all the time. Someone ultimately pointed out that keeping it in the freezer tends to do that... lol Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Has the OP ever found resolution? The 9900 forum would be a good place to start, imo. Upgrading OS to 1066 has kept mine nicely "thawed" ever since.
