BlackBerry Bold 9900, auto shutoff and single red light upon trying to turn on

I recently purchased a BlackBerry Bold 9900 (about 3 weeks ago). Since then I haven't had any problems and absolutely love the phone until this morning. I keep it in the case it comes with and I put it in my dresser when I went outside to work so it would't get banged around while working. When I came inside about 3 hours later it was off and when I tried to turn it on, the red light would go on just once for a few seconds, the scroll box I guess I could call it (it replaced the ball) lit up without the call button or anything else lighting up then it turned off along with the red light and there was no activity. I took the battery out and placed it back in and it turned on. I'm just curious if anyone else has had any problems like this and wondering what could be causing it and if there is reason for concern.
