iphone 5 will be out this year, iphone 4s with its horrible battery life will be yesterdays news in short order. If you get the 4s now you will regret it within months especially when your fed up of the bad battery life and the iphone 5 comes out much better in that department.

If i were you i would delay your decision, worse case scenario is that you get a iphone 4s for a new discounted price which is another thing you should consider if you get that phone in march in regards too, its resale value.

Go to the store play with the 9900 if you decide to go that route keep in mind there are alot of em on craigslist and kijiji going for anywhere from 2-3 hundred in black and if you get it in white, resale is is between 375-450 ish

Bravo I say! Just drove 90 miles round trip to get a brand new O2 locked 9900 and I am now back again to the BB family.
My iPhone 4s will be used until early next week and then get time to do the transfer of idata to blackberry all rounder data package.
After BB for years and then a few months with the iphone4 and back to BB then over thentheniphone 4s injustnhad to buy one and could not keep away. I really do feel at home now. Very happy bunny

in my opinion the 9900 is a much cooler phone get up close, inspect and see just how beautiful a device it is!

it depence what a cool looking is for people. I think an iPhone pulled out of a black suit it'd be just disgusting twice if white! I'd feel like I'm back in my shorts 12 years old playing Mario Bros with Nintendo game boy

hahhaahaha. yes! The reflow of the text is a huge thing. I *think* text reflow is available on Android too, but I don't own an android..

I don't know how you can say that the iphone4s has horrible battery life. My 4s easily out lasts my 9900. It's not even a close comparison. Sure, the 4s battery may die faster, but that's only because it's actively being used far more than my 9900 is when I play games. I've never had battery anxiety before with my older BB's until I got the 9900.

I have had many, many, many iOS devices (2x 3G, 2x 3GS, 1x4, 1x4s, and that's not counting ipods..), and a few BB's (8100, 9000, 9700, 9780, 9900). I keep the 9900 because the keyboard and email is easier, but the iOS devices because there are many apps that just have better support on it. E.g. games hands down. The 4/4S camera blows the camera from the 9900 out of the water. The multimedia support on the iOS devices are just so much better. I get signal from the 4S in many places where I can't get a signal from the 9900 (e.g. elevator at home).

Sadly, chinese input on the iOS is much better than the BB (no, i don't speak/read/write chinese, but many people i know do).

and one more sad thing is that there is much better support for some apps on the iOS devices than the 9900. I would dare say that it is due to constrained resources on the iOS devices. E.g. Evernote. You can store notes locally on Evernote for iOS. You can't on the BB. There's a cache, but that's no guarantee. This doesn't matter to me until I planned on travelling and saw the outrageous data roaming prices that Rogers charges.

Like the OP, i couldn't decide what i wanted either. So I went with both (i swap sim cards around..)

i have to comment on chinese input though.

i do use chinese on both devices though. but i found the Bold 9900 to be much nicer to use. language switching on both devices are similarly easy. vocabulary and predictive input is on par as far as i'm concerned. the bold 9900 won simply because its easier to type on, plus the use of trackpad means it much more precise at select the right chinese character, and also you don't have to constantly shift your hand position while selecting a chinese character. Its much easier on your hands and fingers when typing long messages in chinese.

i actually found myself typing in chinese more often since its as easy to use as inputting english text. whereas on the iphone, i only use chinese input occasionally. Often avoiding it whenever possible.

I'm doing the same thing. Truthfully though, I mostly use my ipad where I had been using the ipod touch. I pay for the 3G on ATT, and really love having that constantly connected.

The 9930 is still king when it comes to communication though!

My 9930 has much better battery life than my 9650 was. I just got my wife an iphone 4S, and see her battery is pretty much dead at the end of the day

spelling and grammar really sucks with a pure touchscreen phone like the iPhone. 9900/9930 is my choice!!!
    8100 > 8120 > 8310 > 8320 > 8520 > Bold 9000 > Bold 9700 > Torch 9800 > Bold 9780 > WhiteBerry 9810 > SilverBerry 9810 > Current Phone: BOLD 9900 & PlayBook!!!

You can't blame spelling/grammar on the device. Blame those errors on the user.

Umm lets just face it. Physical keyboard is better than virtual. I cannot stress how good of a texteer I am. I can type way easier and faster /more with almost zero errors with a physical. Virtual ? Forget it. I'm still not sure why I'm sticking with an oversized Samsung galaxy s 2. Blackberry is where its at.

I guess you already knew what you wanted before creating this threat. I have no doubt of your love for BB, that's why you came here to see if he could make you change your mind. Enjoy your new iPhone 4S!

I too have been thinking about getting a Bold 9930. I currently have a 4S.
I had the Curve 8520, the Curve 3G, and the Bold 9650 last year and they were good reliable phones.
Before them I had androids and was a sworn, die hard android user (lol)
BUT lately I have found myself missing Blackberry (for the past 3 months exactly) and have thought about getting the Bold 9930.

However, iPhone does have good advantages. The camera, apps, and battery life is better than any blackberry or android I owned.
I easily get a day and a half of usage before I hit 20% on the 4s and thats with heavy music playing, tweeting, facebooking, texting, and phone calls.

But like I said, I miss blackberry. Especially bbm and Ubersocial! Ubersocial on iPhone and android are nothing compared to the BB version!

I'be been thinking about switching to the Bold 9930, and just using my iPhone with wifi. But is the Bold 9930 REALLY worth the switch?

I understand your position. For communication I like my 9930, for ease of use and many features I don't use on my BB, I like the IP4S. So it is a hard choice. I can keep both and activate the one I want to use on any given day, but is that really what I need.
Trying to make this same decision. However, I will sell whichever one I don't want to keep on Ebay. Very Tough Choice indeed

If you don't mind the touchscreen keyboard then go for the iphone.
If you do go for the bold.

So, I just ordered a refurbished 9930 off Amazon.
Kinda excited for it to get here! Estimated delivery is Monday.
Read the reviews for the seller & they mostly said it got there before
the estimated date so hopefully it'll get here by Saturday. *crosses fingers*

I'm still keeping my 4S tho. I'll just use it on WiFi.
