If what you say is true, then I'd guess that others in the same area are also having issues... but this has nothing to do with the 9900/9930

Try a battery pull and if that doesn't fix it call your carriers support. I had a similar situation last summer and called Roger support. In the end it was just my phone and a battery pull cured it.
