I was watching the British TV Series "Fortitude" over the weekend on Amazon Fire TV. It was produced in 2015 in Iceland and is about a fictitious small town called Fortitude where it's bitter cold and Law Enforcement is dealing with a serial killer.

Everyone in the series is carrying a BlackBerry 9900. I had to freeze-frame when the Governor had her phone ringing on the table during a meeting and yep, 9900. A new series produced just last year and the cast members use BlackBerry 9900s. And they looked good using them.

You gotta' love that timing!

In "Fortitude", there was a scene where the Governor was traveling to a meeting in her car, and they showed her texting on the 9900. Full screen actual live texting for about 10 seconds with her 9900. I was amazed. Damn that phone looks good on the big screen. It really is a beautifully designed and elegant phone, almost 5 years after it was launched. Amazing.

BTW, Season 1 episode 8 is where you see the 9900 twice. Once on the Governor's table and once with her texting in the car.

This is probably due to your battery being old ...

The sudden surge from the flash causes a drain and it shuts down.

Time to order a new battery !

It may have already been discussed here, but is anyone using a 9900/9930 on a prepaid plan, such as Straight Talk, Cricket, ATT Prepaid? Etc.. I'm on contract with ATT, but I wouldn't want to add another line. I thought about getting a 9900 and put a prepaid card in it. I'm assuming BIS wouldn't be available though.

Using 9930 on VZW prepaid - unlimited talk / text and 2gb data. Streams Pandora just fine and sips data ...
