I have been having ongoing issues with my Bold 9900. The first one I got sim free bricked on me after a couple of weeks. Then I got it replaced from the phone shop for an unlocked 9900 which was originally for O2 UK.
My current provider is Vodafone UK and my plan is BES. The phone is unlocked. I am running version 7.0.0 Bundle 2406 which I reverted back to from Version 7.1.0 Bundle 1149.
But my problem is the Signal. It like stays in 3G but when there is no 3G in the area it does not want to switch to GPRS/EDGE (2G). Under Mobile Network the Network Mode is "3G & 2G" and Network Selection Mode is "Automatic".
When I try to select only "2G" in an area where I know 100% there is 2G coverage it just goes into SOS.
When I revert back to "3G or 2g" it goes back to 3G.
Is there something that I can do to fix this problem. Its really annoying as I have to keep checking my phone. As when I am travelling to work and home it sometimes just sticks in SOS.
