So I updated my os to 7.1.523 and now when i start beweather i get asked to validate. I got it free when rim was offering it in the app world back when i had 7.1.3xx.

So did i do something wrong when updating or what?

I have an actual paid version and I just re tried activating and it worked.

Must have been a weird bug because I'm running that same os.

There was a post the if u didn't save the activation key code when u first downloaded it tht it won't allow u to set it up again. Bellshare did say they are working on a update to correct the issue.

Or just go to there website and have them send u a code again

#1. The most likely reason is that the app is trying to register using the promo key. I had similar/same issue after one of my updates. In the app menu there is an option to register. When u click it, delete the promo activation code and replace it with the one they emailed you during the original installation.
#2. If you switched device due to warranty replacement or similar reason, there is a link that I can go to at the app maker's site to change your license to your new device.

Hope this helps...it worked for me, both after an update, and when I received my warranty replacement.
